some book recomendations

Hi! This isn't what i usually do on here but i want to do some book recomendations, specifically i'll try to talk about books that aren't very popular in social media, for example i wont put Jane Austen or Óscar Wilde in the list, incredibly talented authors but you probably know them already so i'll try to talk about not as famous books so this list can be helpful for someone :)

1."The Roulette Player"-Mircea Cartarescu.
This is a short story about a writer that talks about his expirience playing the russian roulette (during the URSS), specially he tells us about "the roulette player" a misterious and dangerous man. I think is the best option to start readen Cartarescu. With a beautiful writing style, like many other sovietic authors of his time he has influences of the 50s american literature (like "Lolita" from Nabokov for example) a very nilhistic touch that you would love and overall and incredible book, in my opinion an esencial for undestanding european contemporany literature.

2. "Going down is the worst"-Mariana Enríquez. I actually would recomend any of her books like "A Sunny place for shady people", Mariana is an argentinan writer with a lot of horror storys with her name. One of my personal favorites is "Going down is the worst" a gothic 90s story, about three teenagers, drugs, love, destruction and vampires. I loved It, if you are a young reader (14-20) you should check It out.

3. "Cousins"-Aurora Venturini. Another argentinan authors. This story is simply incredible, during the 40s we see the life of a disfuncional family, in a house full of woman, they are all disabled: physically, mentally or imaginary. Talking topics like art, sexuality, abortion, abusive relationships, poverty...

4. "Physical education"-Rosario Villajos. (A spanish writer that you should check out) I wont talk a lot about the book because i think the best way of reading It is without knowing what's going on. A teenager in the 70s talks about her experiences with her body as someone living in a society poorly educated about womens bodys. A feminist eassy with anecdotes about her parents and how boys treat her. It's been a lot since I read it and I still think about it. Defenetly a must!

5. "The girls"-Emma Cline. A teenager in the 70s joins a sect in a ranch. Influenced by a group of young woman that live "free" the way they consider correct and a manipulative and charismatic cult leader. Maybe this book is not for everyone but i loved It, the writing style of the author was a pleasure to me, something different from what we are used, a personal favorite with some of my favorite quotes ever. "I waited for someone to told me the good things about me. Lately I will ask myself if that was the reason why there were more women than men in the ranch. All the time I dedicated to get ready, all those articles teaching you that life is a waiting room until someone looked at you... The boys dedicated all this time becoming their selves"

6."Dangerous friendships"-Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. France, XVIII, the story of two noble exlovers that became rivals. A full drama about manipulation and games. We love a good and smart story about the french nobles.

7. "Blood Wedding"-Federico García Lorca. One of the best theatre pieces on Spanish literature. A story about life and death, full of metaphores that announce the tragedy that is to come. Lorca writes incredible his characters as always, romance and pure human emotions and fear at it's best. Just read, It trust me.

That was pretty much It. I hope you get some recomendations and that you discovered new books. Tell me if you want another one of this.

If it doesn't bother you, if it interest you, could you please write something about school or the overwhelming feeling of simply being alive. Having to live. Idk.. anyway, I love this blog!! I'm here from a quiz you made!
